This beautiful rosemary has especially good flavor and aroma — great qualities for a culinary rosemary. A fast grower, it forms rather quickly an orderly hedge of very aromatic narrow foliage. In addition, Barbeque Rosemary produces many clear blue flowers throughout the year.
Unlike some other upright rosemary varieties, this one responds well to pruning, so it can be kept to a nice shape, perfect for screening. And of course, it is evergreen.
Once established, like other rosemarys, it needs only occasional watering. Very little fertilizer is needed — in fact, too much produces weak lanky stems that are not particularly drouth-tolerant.
Barbeque Rosemary is perfect for grilling, with its fast-growing long straight stems. But don’t believe everything you read about its being deer-resistant!
