Crocosmia sp. ‘Jenny Bloom’ bears mango-colored buds that open to an intense yellow-orange. The six-petaled tubular flowers on arching stems rise out of lance-shaped foliage in early summer. These cormous perennials are originally from South Africa. Hummingbirds “war” over their blooms. Great for cut flowers. The dried seed heads are very attractive and useful for late summer or early fall arrangements. Grow about 2′ tall. Sun or partial sun. Easy to grow!
