An outstanding Hydrangea for the south! One of the few hydrangeas that takes our heat & humidity. Normally evergreen with beautiful, slightly glossy, dark green foliage that’s covered with clusters of pink (or blue) flowers (depending on the soil acidity) during mid spring. Japanese Evergreen Hydrangea forms a gorgeous, lush shrub that averages 3′ x 3′. Will grow in full sun, but prefers a little afternoon shade during the summer. Moist, well drained soil. Responds well to pruning if ever needed.
