The October speaker for the Houston Rose Society will be discussing a topic close to the hearts of rosarians and gardeners this fall. Leo Watermeier, the curator of the rose garden in the Louis Armstrong Garden in New Orleans will explain how over 150 varieties of old garden roses are grown in the park and in the French Quarter. He will also examine how hurricanes have affected those roses over the years and will give suggestions on how best to recover from the impact of those storms.
