The Arbor Gate is excited to include on our new website the blog feature. There will be several contributors. I will mainly do the shops…what’s new, what is awesome, etc. And, of course, there will be garden contributors. I will comment on the gardens from a by-stander’s point of view. I can’t even begin to answer garden questions but I can comment on how outstanding the beds look or how a particular plant has that “wow” factor. Welcome again and we hope you enjoy.
Great Idea!
Thank you for this blog site. I can not think of a better way to ask questions and get answers with our busy lives we all lead. Merry Christmas
Great to see the new site! Arbor Gate is one of my favorite places. Looking forward to the annual Christmas event on Saturday. Merry Christmas!
Baytown, Texas Sunday 7th, was listening to you on the Randy Lemmon Show…enjoyed all of your comments, hope to get by your place one day…
should we worry about the plants
How much should I worry about the white stuff? Is my spinach….toast? I covered it, so maybe
Your spinach should be fine-maybe a bit of tip burn, but otherwise ok. Also try not to hurry into cutting back perennials too early-those unattractive dead looking stalks actually provide protection from the cold. If they are cut back too early and it then turns warm, as so often happens here in Houston, the plant really puts out new growth. THEN when the cold comes back it hits those new leaves even harder. Patience is a virtue!
Your persimmon was most likely “Saijo”. We will have persimmons and many other fruit varieties at our fruit tree seminar and sale on Sunday January 25. Keep an eye on our website for details.
Thank you so much for providing individuals with an exceptionally marvellous opportunity to check tips from this blog. It’s always very awesome plus full of a great time for me and my office friends to search your web site the equivalent of three times in a week to find out the newest issues you have. And indeed, I am also usually fascinated considering the dazzling ideas served by you. Certain 4 points in this posting are in fact the most beneficial I’ve had.
