We have a new artist here at The Arbor Gate: Terri Kay Saxton! Here is a note from Terri Kay, telling you a little bit about her:
“My name is Terri Kay Saxton. I am a 52 year old woman, married for 33 years to my best friend, three grown children and two grandchildren. I’m not a native Texan, but “I got here as fast as I could!” I have been working in the fashion industry for 34 years working as a hairdresser. I found my inspiration by enhancing my client’s beauty… inside & out! Inspiring them to be the person God sees.
In 2008 my husband was diagnosed with a serious illness. The stress was unbearable! Coming to terms with that was difficult. But after my conversations with God, my fearful perspective of the situation had to change. How could I “see” this challenge from a new perspective? I needed some everything and everyone through the eyes of love. One day in 2011 the idea showed up! With the incredible support and encouragement from my husband and entire family I started embellishing reading glasses of all things. My whole life I have always been an accessory nut! I love the bling and colorful stuff. The readers gave me a fun, flirty, crazy, and glamorous avenue of expression. So the business “Terri Kay” was off and running! After the success of my entire line of readers, my daughter encouraged me to expand my creative abilities. “We” now carry handbags, pendants, wallets and lots of other accessories. The bling has taken on a life of its own! The creative side of my brain won’t stop. My business is getting larger and more complex and definitely more original! I am now selling my designs along the Gulf Coast and they are on their way to other regions of the USA! I am so excited that the acceptance of my creativity has been so immediate.
