Tyler, Texas — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Environmental Horticulture Committee in Smith County will be hosting popular horticulturist, garden writer, and philosopher Steven Chamblee Tuesday, April 11 from 6-8 PM at the R.B. Hubbard Center (“The Hub”), 304 East Ferguson in Tyler. Steven will present “Peace, Love, and Milagros: Life Lessons from the Road.”
During his thirty-something years road-tripping around Texas, Steven has collected great stories about horticultural heavens, botanical blunders, and tender tales that will melt your heart. Heeding the advice of a close friend, Steven has brought his favorite stories together for a very personal presentation of inspiration, enlightenment, and humor.
Steven studied horticulture and received a Master’s degree in public horticulture administration from the University of Delaware. Before coming to Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, he spent 16 years at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens.
Steven is chief horticulturist for Chandor. He served as consulting editor and author for Neil Sperry’s GARDENS magazine for 17 years, writes a monthly e-newsletter column titled “Native Son,” and is an adjunct instructor for Tarleton State University and Texas Christian University’s Extended Education program.
