Earth-Kind Botanical Garden in TylerPosted on : March 24, 2009
I had the honor of attending the dedication of the world’s first Earth-Kind Botanical Garden in Tyler.
It was the first phase of gardens designed for the grounds of the Goodman-LeGrande homesite.
A scuplture was dedicated to Dr. Steven George of Texas A&M University. Dr. George was the visionary and driving force behind the Earth – Kind program. It was a beautiful day and the dogwoods were breathtaking along the drive. Don’t miss the Rose Festival Saturday, March 28th, from 10 until 3. Dr. George will be on hand as will
Gaye Hammond, Ann Wheeler, John Ferguson, and The Texas Rose Rustlers. There will be information for the novice as well as the experienced rose grower, not to mention a wonderful selection of beautiful roses.
